For more than three decades, D.W. Ram has provided exceptional custom machined parts and other industrial services to companies nationwide. We began back in 1981, when founder Doug Murdaugh had been working in a machine shop and decided to become his own boss.

Doug bought a single machine, and started the company as a small tool and die shop, running it out of his basement.  

Over the last 30 years the company has grown and now occupies a 28,000 square foot facility in Tinley Park, IL employing more than a dozen craftsmen and specialists, with Doug’s son, Douglas, running operations.

D.W. Ram has expanded from only handling tool and die projects, to a full service machine shop where we offer prototyping, parts manufacturing, CNC machining, reverse engineering of parts, welding and fabrication, and custom built machinery.

We use the latest technologies, operated by a team of dedicated expert craftsmen, to deliver quality parts to our customers quickly and affordably. Our customers in a variety of industries, including transportation, manufacturing, processing, and telecom, have come to rely on our creativity, ability to solve just about any problem, and willingness to go the extra mile to get them what they need.
